Anniversary weekend in Gatlinburg away from the main drag?

sophiasgr8 asked:

I tried posting this in travel & didn’t get many responses. I figure there are other couples that have been that could read this and give advice.

I would like to have a nice anniversary weekend with my husband in mid October in a cabin or hotel or maybe a B&B that is closer to nature in Galinburg but still accessible to some decent restaraunts. I need a package that is budget minded around $350 if possible. A very clean, simple is place is fine. A jacuzzi would be a plus but it’s not a neccessity. A comfortable mattress is a must.

The last time we spent most of our time hiking in the park and never even set foot in the touristy junk shops. I am hoping to go back and enjoy some of the fall colors, and relax. I’d prefer reccomendations of some places you have personally stayed in. My husband always is doing nice things for me I want to surprise him with something special this year. He really loves fall scenic views
I was hoping to spend that for accomodations for 2 nights 3 days.
I know food will be extra. I would be willing to stay nearby Galinburg.
I thought about the time share thing do you all thinks it’s tacky to do that for an anniversary? The last time I sat through one of those in Hilton Head we got a choice of a gas card or free dinner too.

crankyissues asked:

Labor Day weekend…. we’re thinking about planning a trip to Gatlinburg, TN. If you have vacationed there, and you liked where you stayed, please tell me where it was and why you liked it! I don’t want to end up somewhere crappy! We just want to get away for a weekend, and stay in a cabin, or somewhere cool!
Any suggestions?

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN trip?

rpjrains61 asked:

I have been to tn once before, but i was wandering if anyone knows of any good swimming holes in Gatlinburg or pifeon forge tn. The park will not tell you for liabilty purposes. also does anyone know of something fun to do, but not the usual attractions like dollywood/aquarium-something that maybe only locals know about and think is interesting. One more question. We stayed in a cabin last time and the a/c was broke (it was also broke when our relatives stayed the year before) and they double dipped my bank account. Do you think they would give me a deal if i stay in one of their cabins again? Should i try to talk them in to one?! What do you think?
